Every year, Adam organizes and funds an Ice Cream Party for the homeless at the Austin Street Center here in Dallas, TX. He invites all of his friends and family who bring their kids to help out. The kids cut the fruit, set up the tables, and pass out the ice cream sundaes. The idea is to give the kids experience helping others and to include them by assigning these tasks. The men and women of the shelter really appreciate a fun dessert that’s out of their daily norm. They also love seeing and interacting with the kids because it’s a rare sight to have children volunteer at the shelter. Parents and kids love this volunteer event every year and everyone looks forward to it!
